picture-14The New York Times is profiling several of the city's inhabitants in a series of sound and slide shows called One in 8 Million. I know what you're thinking: Slide shows? Print media is staving off obsolescence with slide shows? But, these are actually pretty great. Imagine an NPR program accompanied by really nice photographs.

Anyway, on Friday the series featured Brooklyn comedian Jesse Popp, who they call "The Struggling Stand-Up." The piece is funny and insightful, and struggling or not, I've heard from two different people in recent months that Jesse is the most underrated comic in New York. So check out the slide show, then go see Jesse Popp Sunday nights at the Beauty Bar.

After the jump, you can watch a clip from Jesse's appearance on Premium Blend.
