Tim Meadows has just signed on to the new film Grown Ups, whose cast already includes SNL alums Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Maya Rudolph, Chris Rock, Tim Herlihy, Norm Macdonald and Colin Quinn (Two “Weekend Update” anchors for the price of one!) The film, which follows five high school buddies getting together 30 years after graduation, is looking to bring Happy Madison Productions to their logical conclusion: a straight-up SNL reunion pic.
Sandler’s always been good about recruiting his old Studio 8H buddies in his various projects, but this new film seems to throw away any pretense of non-nepotism, and I, for one, am all for it. There’s something really great about equating any given year’s SNL cast to a high school graduating class. Let’s get an SNL reunion movie every 7 years, I say, like our own little comedy “7 Up” documentary. And I say we cram Grown Ups full of more SNL alums! Any chance we can get G.E. Smith up in this mofo?
Not to be outdone, rumor has it Robert Downey Jr. has added Nora Dunn, Anthony Michael Hall and A. Whitney Brown to the cast of Iron Man 2.
