Back in the olden days, if you wanted to make money as a poet, you basically had one route. First, you'd spend decades toiling in poverty and obscurity, then you'd drink yourself to death or commit murder/suicide, then someone would discover your poems and then the cash would start rolling in. Another backstage web-only Colbert Report video is after the jump.

The Colbert Report airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30pm / 10:30c.
