As you know, last week Chicago lost its bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games to Rio de Janeiro. And, yes, it's a bummer, but let's be realistic about this. This is 2016 we're talking about. Do you really think the machines will allow us to take time away from the battery plantations and even have an Olympics?

Stephen Colbert's take on the announcement can be found after the jump.

The Daily Show and Colbert Report air Monday through Thursday beginning at 11pm / 10c.

I'm also upset that I can no longer watch clips in the UK. I'm an American living in Britain, and Jon Stewart is the one US show I miss the most! PLEASE change it back!

Mispredicted?? Okay Bush, get off the internets.

Has anyone thought that just maybe Conservatives "hate" Obama BECAUSE they love America?

Olympics are a proven money sink that rarely helps the economy of the hosting city. The people aren't cheering because they hate America but because they think it is a stupid idea to host a venue that isn't beneficial.

Furthermore, the "hate" of Obama is because he keeps pushing things that hurt our economy, regardless of all the promises. After 9 months, this is no longer an inheritance from the Bush administration (which I didn't support so it's not like because I dislike Obama, I loved Bush or something). The Obama administration has consistently miscalculated and mispredicted the issues with the economy and how to fix it and things are still not any better.

I am really disappointed i can't watch these videos in the UK any more. I'm a big fan of the show and have watched these videos for about a year now. Dick move comedycentral, dick move.

I too live in the UK and have regularly watched Jon clips here before and am totally mismayed over why any country restrictions would ever be introduced. It's incredibly counter-productive. I'm still see adverts. If I can't watch the show, can you at least not give me any adverts as well that are being used to pay for the content I'm not viewing?

Brian, I agree with you. You really have no idea where the appropriate place to leave that message is.

Yeah, I agree. You don't know where that comment should go.

Dear Comedy Central
It used to be possible to stream your videos in the UK but now it isn't. As an avid fan of your output, I can only express dismay at this terrible limey-ism. Not only is the text meaningless without the accompanying video, but it is hard to work out just how stark-raving-mad the people who post comments at the bottom are, without the relevant context.

I am writing this here because I do not know where else it would go. The secretary of education has a plan for wealthy children to get more education. They cannot afford to pay for all the police it would take to pick up truants whose mothers are working 2 jobs. Or the ones who simply dont care. This proposal will have no money set aside for additional counselors in inner city schools, they can't pay for what they have now. This is simply rich democrats wanting better schools on the cheap. It is not for the mainstream. The teachers are in unions, the unions will require more money, there is no more money, they dont have enough to pick up the kids that are out of school now. The school system is a broken disaster because of our social system. We cant pay for the school system as it is, how can we pay for this ridiculous idea Mr. Out of Touch with Reality Secretary has.
