I'm going to have to agree with Paul on this one. It's not like the request to get rid of X amount of helicopters from the President's fleet has to go through congress and get approval. Issues regarding the budget for the White House go through the Office Management Bureau; an office of the executive branch whose head, appointed by the President, could easily work with the President on any of the Presidents expenditures. The White House obviously feels they need 28 helicopters (if whatever report whoever got that number from is even accurate or credible) and the question is whether they really do.
Furthermore, double-lulz at Mandy. Its absolutely true that if an industry isn't up to par or becomes unnecessary then it should fail. You can't simply have 600 people making bearings or whatever just because it would make you sad if those people didn't have something to do to make money. It's a sad fact of life that things, people and industries become obsolete and if you're unlucky enough to be a part of the shit that goes down that is just tough luck. As a person i think it sucks that you don't have a way to make bank, but as a taxpayer I don't want to have to support your uselessness. Get a skill and a new job or wander off and die.
