It would be nearly impossible to compose a short list of the greatest real comedians of all-time. Figuring out if including Gallagher negates the necessity of including Gallagher II alone would take months of research and lab tests. But what about the best fake comics? Some have hypothesized that's a list a dimwitted blogger could put together in a single afternoon.

Tracy Jordan (30 Rock)

Perhaps best known as a pornographic video game mogul, Tracy Jordan is also a stand-up with a reputation for holding a mirror up to society and then winning the world record for biggest mirror.

Fozzie Bear (The Muppets)

Not as good a comedian as he is a tomato-dodger, Fozzie's greatest contribution to the world of comedy is probably his catchphrase, "Wacka Wacka Wacka," which was essentially the "Yo, I'm real happy for you and I'mma let you finish…" of the late 70s.

GOB and Franklin (Arrested Development)

Any comedian can make us laugh, but it takes a special performer and his racist puppet to make us laugh, think, feel and maybe, just maybe, heal.

Sweet Dee Reynolds (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia)

Not only does Dee have a knack for asking what the deal is with things, she's also great at keeping her vomit down most of the time. Where I come from that's called multifaceted. An honorable mention goes to Charlie Kelly.

Rupert Pupkin (King of Comedy)

I wouldn't say Rupert Pupkin is the funniest sociopath kidnapper in comedy, but he's easily in the top 10.

Reggie Warrington (The Nutty Professor)

Before he became a superstar, Dave Chappelle turned in a pitch-perfect send-up of a Def Comedy Jam comic in what is arguably the best scene in this movie. And it's true, women do indeed be shoppin'.

UPDATE:

I am stupid. This should be the 7 Best Fictional Comedians, because it would be incomplete and really not even worth making without RAAAAAAAANDY from Funny People.

Rebo and Zooty played by Penn and Teller on the series Babylon 5. It takes talent to make a Minbari laugh.

I considered Tony Clifton and decided he was a lounge singer rather than a comedian. My apologies.

Tony Clifton? How could anyone forget him, especially Comedy Central. o_O!

What about Larry the Cable Guy? That guy is 100% fake. You can find old vids of him doing improv (with a Jersey accent and nice clothes) on YouTube.
