Over the weekend, I got to see Patton Oswalt perform live in Royal Oak, Michigan, and (surprise!) it was very funny. I almost feel stupid even saying it. Of course he was funny. He's one of the funniest dudes out of all the dudes. So I'm not going to write a lengthy review. It'd be like doing a detailed review of ice cream. It's ice cream, it's delicious, we get it. Bottom line: he did almost all new material and did a lot of great riffing and crowd stuff about how Detroit is a desolate, post-apocolyptic wasteland (LOL 'cause it's true). He also did this bit, which, while not new, is awesome:

That's a DVD-exclusive from My Weakness Is Strong, which is both wonderful and now available on DVD and CD.

And if you want to see Patton live for yourself, you'll have a few opportunities in the coming weeks. He'll be at Washington DC's Lincoln Theater tonight. Then he'll be performing at the New York Comedy Festival on November 7. And finally, you can catch him at Largo in LA on November 14.

Full disclosure: I got the tickets for free, because I'm a hotshot blogger.
