The word 'fag' is more often used nowadays, albeit as an insult, in the way they describe, rather than to mean 'gay person'. Think about it, the times you either use or hear 'fag', was it usually meant to mean strictly 'gay' or was it used just as a more general insult? This is in line with current usage, in the same way that 'queer' or 'gay' once meant something completely different they now almost always mean 'homosexual'. I would say that South Park are right to 'reclaim' the use of 'fag' as an insult while not necessarily having sexual connotations OMG you've missed the point.
