The History Channel recently announced that they'd signed up Larry the Cable Guy for his own series, but Larry made history himself (segue!) last year when he performed in front of an audience of 50,000 in Lincoln, Nebraska, setting a record for the largest comedy show ever recorded. The resulting special, Larry the Cable Guy: Tailgate Party, makes its world premiere this Sunday night at 9pm / 8c, so we asked Larry a few questions about the show.

How does it feel to be responsible for the biggest comedy show ever recorded?

Very honored and flattered that I have such awesome fans. If I didn't have them, it wouldn't have happened. But was I nervous? I pooped 7 times.

How do you plan to top it?

I heard they found water on Mars. So if a hotel gets built there, I'd like to be the first act to perform there. And another good thing would be, I'd finally be the lightest guy at the pool.

What was the smallest comedy show you've ever performed?

I'll be honest, I don't really remember. It was all a blur.

Got any funny backstage stories from the show?

Two people in Ft. Myers, FL. I brought the table up on stage and sat with them for an hour and told jokes.

Is there a right way and a wrong way to prepare a tailgate party hotdog?

There's never a wrong way to prepare a hot dog. It's a hot dog.

In the special, you talk about buying in bulk. What's the worst thing someone could buy in bulk?

Cocktail weenies and toilet paper.
