Ugly Americans finally makes its series premiere next Wednesday night at 10:30pm / 9:30c, right after an all-new South Park. Gonzalo saw a screening of the pilot and said it was really good. And that kid is incapable of lying according to Asimov's Laws of Robotics, so it must be true.

Anyway, over the next few days, in anticipation of the premiere, we're going to be running some interviews with the cast of Ugly Americans, starting with Larry Murphy.

Who are your biggest comedic influences?
Don Knotts, Tim Conway & the Great Gazoo. Hello Dum dum.

When did you decide to become a comedian?
Back in school I remember seeing a poster that gave your career options based on your Math aptitude. With my limited skills my only option was soda jerk. There's even less math in comedy.

What was your worst gig?
One time I did a college show where someone threw a shoe.

What was your best gig?
This year I had the opportunity to be part of Sketch Fest in San Francisco. Great comics and alot of fun.

If you weren't a comedic actor, what would you be doing?
My people are from Ireland. A long line of blacksmiths. So I imagine probably that.

What's the funniest thing you've ever seen on the internet?

What's the funniest thing you've ever seen in real life?
We have a new baby boy Hank so that changes daily. Right now he has his spit take down and he's working on his dead pan.

How do you think comedy will change in the coming years?
People will do less jokes about how they can't get their VCR to stop flashing twelve.

Who are your favorite underrated or up-and-coming comics?
H. Jon Benjamin. Someone should give that guy a show.

What's your advice for someone just getting into comedy and/or acting?
Find a balance between being critical with yourself and getting onstage.

What separates Ugly Americans from other shows on TV right now?
It treats the current love affair concerning Vampires with the gravity it deserves.

Got any funny stories about working on the show?
Not yet. But hopefully we get a second season.

What's the ugliest thing about Americans?
What?! That's an outrage! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Would you rather have sex with a demon or a merperson?
Having had a threesome with both (Thanks Craigslist) I gotta go with Merperson.
