Good news, everyone! Let's all crack open a can of Slurm and toast to Futurama, because it's just been officially announced that the show will be airing at least through 2013. Also, the premiere date of the second half of the current season has been confirmed as Thursday, June 23 at 10/9c.

To clarify, in addition to the new episodes that will begin airing this June, you can now look forward to a batch of 13 new episodes in the Summer of 2012 and another 13 new episodes in the Summer of 2013. I've never been good at math, but I think that adds up to about a zillion more episodes of Futurama.

So, even if the world really does end in 2012, we'll at least be able to enjoy the continuing adventures of the Planet Express crew while we suffer through Armageddon.
