Have you ever been so close to getting something that you could taste it? I think it's fair to say we all have. But now imagine if that something wasn't on a fork near your mouth, nor was it even edible, but somehow you could still abstractly taste it. Well that's what it must be like for Eugene Mirman and crew who, as of this writing, are a mere $3,202 away from their $18,000 KickStarter goal to fund the fourth annual ironic/sincere Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival in NYC.
The catch– they only have until Wednesday August 17 at 2:06pm to meet their goal, and if they don't hit the target, they don't get a penny.
So if Mirman's reputation and hilarious KickStarter video weren't enough to happily guilt a donation out of you before, then this close-call deadline and the recently-announced lineup should do the trick. Laughspin has posted the first tentative itinerary and we're already seeing comedic powerhouses like The Daily Show's Kristen Schaal, John Hodgman and John Oliver and Jon Benjamin Has a Van's Jon Benjamin.
Defenders of great comedy– get over to the KickStarter page and post your contribution now in return for some incredible incentives. Haven't you always wanted an autographed headshot of Eugene Mirman that says "AMERICA'S LITTLE DARLING" on it? Or to have your name printed in a comedy festival program under the header of "Racist" for a mere $20? Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime half-joking opportunity!
