A year ago, most people would have said we needed more awards shows like we needed more shows about people getting additional holes in their heads (incidentally, don't miss Head-Holers, coming next Spring to TLC). But while we might not have needed more awards shows in general, we did need more good awards shows. And we got one in 2011 with the inaugural Comedy Awards.
The Comedy Awards are returning in 2012, but in the meantime, here are our favorite moments from the first one:
Stephen Colbert Hijacks Jon Stewart's Speech
I don't know about you, but I'd be way more likely to watch The Nobel Prize ceremony if there was more stage-storming.
Tina Fey Wins Best Comedy Actress – Film
Again, pay attention other award shows. If your winners aren't talking shit about Helen Mirren, you are doing something wrong.
Will Ferrell Announces the Best Viral Original
At the risk of causing a rift in the space/time continuum, I would nominate this clip for the next Best Viral Original.
Jon Cryer Has a Lot of Time on His Hands
Something tells me Jon Cryer doesn't have a problem with people still calling him Duckie after this video. They call him Mr. Duckie now.
Tracy Morgan Honors Eddie Murphy
And now, the hands-down, without a doubt, most memorable thing Tracy Morgan did in all of 2011.
