Everybody's favorite new sketch show Key & Peele got more media attention this week, with this feature story over at the Columbia Spectator and this audio interview on WBEZ's Afternoon Shift (3:45 mark). Among the many quotables from both sources, this one from the Spectator stood out to me–Keegan Michael Key on President Obama (played brilliantly by Jordan Peele in the now-viral Anger Translator sketches):
When asked about President Obama’s biggest challenge this November, Key said that the president is 'stuck between a rock and a hard place.' Key said that he hopes their work will help Americans better relate to the president and see 'that he’s actually trying to help you.'
I'll take his word for it, but this stuff really isn't for me. Personally, I've been politically apathetic ever since voting Steve Johnson for student body president in seventh grade. "More soda machines on campus if I'm elected"? Dirty, lying son of a bitch. I might be convinced to vote for these guys, though:
Check out an all-new Key & Peele Tuesday at 10:30/9:30c. Do it!
