In this episode of Chelsea Peretti's "All My Exes" on SuperDeluxe, Chelsea talks to her ex Jonathan Winters about tic tac toe and his natural smell. I think this one is my favorite:
Omg did your Grandma send you the CNN story about the nice young man who's living in Ikea as a publicity stunt while his apartment gets fumigated for an impressive 7 days?
Well, he also works at The Colbert Report. Fun! (Next, maybe he can move into Stephen's Cool Ranch Doritos house.)
Browsing the new release section of Netflix this morning, I came across a comedy I somehow missed last year: Smiley Face. Smiley Face tells the story of Jane, a young woman who accidentally eats pot cupcakes and then runs errands. How can a movie starring Anna Faris, John Krasinsky, John Cho, and Adam Brody look this god-awful? Here's the trailer. Decide for yourself:
Because of my commitment to seeing every comedy that has a theatrical release, Smiley Face is now at the top of my Netflix queue. (It can't be as bad as "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry", right?)
You know all those blogs out there that detail the minutiae of someone's life in a way that's boring as f**k because you don't care about them? Bob and David's blog is so the opposite of that!! Some talking points from David's post today, "Bob was here and now everything's going to sh*t!":
* Bob and David are presenting HBO with more than one pilot. I actually knocked on wood as I typed that, don't worry.
* Bob broke David's phone and TV (allegedly!)
* David got mistaken for the Verizon guy.
* Personal observation: David Cross is the new Andy Rooney. When Andy Rooney, uhhhh, "retires", can David Cross sit at a desk for five minutes every Sunday and talk about sh*t that pisses him off? Completely dead serious here!!
And Andrew Salomone created an entire game based on Truthiness:
"It's basically a take-off
on the standard Ouija Board, but instead of contacting demon spirits,
like in the classic horror film, The Exorcist, the Oracle of
Truthiness is designed to establish contact with the gut."
Instructions for play are on his website: Fear the Beard.
After hinting in a guest appearance on last night's Daily Show, Stephen Colbert came out and said it on his own show: "I shall seek the office of the President of the United States." Here's the video:
No kidding, maybe! Even the Associated Press is reporting on the announcement: Stephen Colbert to Run for President. Is Stephen really going to run "as a favorite son" in his home state of South Carolina? And does he have a chance? Let's check Blogs We've Never Heard Of!:
Creed Bratton, who plays Creed on The Office, was in a band in the 60s and 70s called The Grass Roots. Best Week Ever dug up video of them singing their hit song "Sha La Lalalala Live For Today" (or something.) Young Creed is the one who goes "one two three four".
Yesterday's New York Times readers were in for a surprise when Maureen Dowd 'dared' Stephen Colbert to write her op-ed column. In it, Stephen both squelches and fans rumors that he might run for public office:
