More year-in-review reflections from the Last Laugh '05 red carpet:

What, in your opinion, was the funniest person, place or thing of 2005?

Sarah Silverman:

“My balls. They were the funniest place”

Lisa Lampanelli:

"The funniest person of 2005 was -- without a doubt -- Tom Cruise.

First of all, this was the biggest celebrity story of the year. That's because we're all just shocked to see such a sweet, tiny little thing be engaged to Katie Holmes. The only reason these two got together is because Katie doesn't complain when Tom wears his high heels!! But as an entertainer, Tom Cruise was at the top of his game this year. First this year, he acted like an ass. Then he acted like a prick. Then he acted like a child. Then he acted like an ass again. I myself found his personal growth exciting. Tom's antics this year were amazing! He acted like that one unstable cousin who refuses to take his court-ordered medication because he doesn't want people to think he's a freak. Then he goes out and vandalizes his ex-girlfriend's car. Come on! That couch-jumping incident was out of line. If my 6-year-old niece jumped on a couch, she would get a time out.

But then again. Tom's a little smaller than her so he's less likely to do real damage to the furniture. And everyone made fun of the fact that Tom and Katie have a marriage with a 'no sex' clause. First of all, all marriages come with a 'no sex' clause. It's called MARRIAGE! Secondly, I have no idea how Tom and Katie conceived this child they're having. But I hear it IS related to the plot of 'Mission Impossible 3'."

After the jump, contributions from Joseph DeRosa, Pete Holmes and Todd Levin.

Joseph DeRosa:

“To me, the funniest thing to happen in 2005 was the infamous Nicole Richie/Paris Hilton break up. I think it's hilarious that there are some people even Nicole Richie finds unethical.

A close second would be the fact that Nicole wrote a book all by herself . . . and it was published! How many aspiring writers did that send to the ledge of a skyscraper. At first I didn't believe that she could possible write anything on her own, until I read the first paragraph which might as well have been written in crayon.”

Pete Holmes:

"I have to give it up for R. Kelly's unintentionally hilarious 'Trapped in the Closet,' specifically the part where a pie-eating midget poops his little-person purple pantaloons. My favorite thing is that 'midget' is an offensive and outdated term, but R. Kelly uses it freely, presumably because it rhymes with 'Bridget,' the midget's not-so-little secret lover. I guess it's because nothing rhymes with 'Little Person,' except maybe Elle McPherson or 'Brittle Person.' Maybe they could've had a person made out of brittle things, like peanut brittle. Peanut brittle is brittle, as stated in the name. It's not called 'delicious peanut candy,' it's called 'peanut brittle' to give you a texture heads-up. That's like calling a Charlston Chew 'marshmallow so sticky it will pull out your fillings.' Sounds good. I'll have one, and one for my purple-pantalooned little person with the 'blessed' underparts."

Todd Levin:

"'Curb Your Enthusiasm' took a little while to find its footing this season, but the episode where Larry David accuses his best friend's nurse of hiding his valuable Mickey Mantle autographed baseball in her oversized sex parts was one of that show's best achievements, and one of the funniest things I saw this year.

Also, I found it very funny that one of the Amazon.com customer reviews of Larry The Cable Guy's book, 'GIT-R-DONE!,' began his review by saying, 'never in my life have I read a book as funny and entertaing as this one.' Buddy, you had me at 'NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I READ A BOOK.'

Funniest Person of 2005? This is a three-way tie between Louis CK, Patrick Stewart, and Louis CK.

1. Louis CK's new HBO One Night Stand is one of the best 30 minutes of comedy I've seen this year, or any year in recent memory. I was at the taping (I'm a very important man) and it was amazing watching him win over a pretty unfamiliar crowd with his incredibly weird and genius 'rules of hell' routine. His 'hide-and-go-seek' joke should be mandatory viewing, even if it means having our government send armed thugs into every home in America to enforce this as martial law.

2. I was shocked by how hilarious Patrick Stewart was on the final episode of HBO's 'Extras' I just never saw it coming, but it was just amazingly hilarious.

3. Louis CK's thread on the comedy message board 'A Special Thing' where he invites people to ask him questions, which he promises to sincerely answer while also insulting the person asking the question, is one more reason the government should execute any man, woman, or child, without provocation, if they cannot identify Louis CK from his professional headshot.

Funniest Place of 2005? This year, and every year, that award goes to 'Boner Junction, Mississippi'"
