Tonight my wife, Sheila, and I attended the Leon Panetta 2006 Lecture Series entitled "How do People in a Democracy Get Their Information" with great interest and enthusiasm. I want to let Jon Stewart know what Pat Buchanan described him, after being on the show and not really understanding what the show was all about, as a "very smart guy" whose program was somewhere between Saturday Night Live and Walter Chronkite newshour. And Paul Begala said that Stewart was "phenomenally smart and a very impressive guy" in the show. The questions were about how people get the news and it was stated that the people watching the Stewart show were smart and somewhat young. Both Buchanan and Begala answered more questions specifically than any news program or paper I have read in months. Love you show and continue to recruit folks in their 50's and 60's. Leland Smith
