Attention Godless Sodomites

September 7, 2006 AT 03:12PM | Comments (113)

From the Fire and Brimstone Desk: Westboro Baptist Church Pastor Fred "Kooky" Phelps, also known as the man who single-handedly keeps the "God Hates Fags" sign industry in business, has set his sites on hellbound Jon Stewart and "hooligan sidekick" Stephen Colbert for their little Emmy skit.

Phelps gets the ball rolling in his latest video sermon with this little gem:

"Comedian Jon Stewart and his hooligan sidekick Stephen Colbert of the Comedy Central TV network are two mockers and scoffers that like to blaspheme God and Westboro Baptist Church. At the Emmy Awards nonsense last week, Colbert began his silliness by bellowing out at the audience, 'Good evening, Godless sodomites.' America has become a nation of Godless sodomites, who mock and scoff about their Sodomite sins, thereby demonstrating that America is a nation of fag-enabling fools, because only fools make a mock at sin. Prov. 14:9"

While we don't condone directing bandwith to the Church's URLs, we were lucky enough to find the rant on YouTube:

Enjoy!

Just listen to this hate filled son of a bitch. All because someone made a joke, OH NO, LOOK OUT, god's gonna burn the whole planet now. Religion is just a different form of terrorism, using hate and scare tactics to make you follow their way of thinking. I believe in God, but I won't follow any man, especially a hate filled preacher who thinks he's better than everyone.

Notice how he leaves out the part where Lot offered his virgin daughters to be raped, or the incest-filled aftermath. Way to pick what you want to hear and ignore the truth you lunatic.

...I didn't know Jon Stewart & Steven Colbert were in the bible.

The only "Godlessness" i see in this bit, is offered up by the lunatic Phelps!

I get so much crap from people for being a Christian (and a Baptist) because of people like this...and using scripture to justify hatred is beyond hypocritical.

Matthew 7:1-2
(Look it up!)

Why do we keep giving this dipshit face time? It's all he wants! And it's what we keep on giving him.

If you people would just snicker and walk away when he shows up he'd go back to his ranch, and shrivel up in die in complete humiliation.

But now, all he has to do is trapse his barefooted little freak family out, and he makes 50 to a hundred websites in about an hour.

Yikes.

I like a freak show as much as the next pig, but come on.

Stephen Colbert is a classic
Jon Stewart is mildly amuzing.
BUT this guy is abolutely the funniest guy I've heard ever.

"It's A Wonderful Life," starring Fred Phelps! (trombone w/ plunger mute: wah wah wah wa-ah!)

Sorry Linda but that attitude is very common with Baptists/Christians. The mockery is well deserved. At least Phelps is entertaining - unlike the rest of the religion.

God may hate fags, but apparently he loves assholes.

Somebody shoot that mutha**cker!

Hey "No Sodomite" leave Linda alone. Muslims aren't the only folks to have their religion hijacked by a bunch of jackasses for their own purposes. Believe in his divinity or not, Jesus preached a radical love for our fellow human beings and half the people who claim to follow his teachings spend all their time figuring out who they are supposed to hate. I don't know if "God Hates Phelps" is any truer but I'm perfectly willing to go with "Fred Phelps makes the baby Jesus cry." Peace.

Ha! Joke's on him. There is no god.

Just for future reference, the comments are above the poster's name, not below.

Bee posted the Bible verse, not Linda.

If Heaven is filled with people like Phelps, then I'd rather burn in hell.

Besides, I was always brought up to believe that God was to be more forgiving of a Godless yet meciful Turk, then a hate filled, devoted Christian.

I did my social work internship in Topeka, and have run into this shmuck several times. I *HATE* when he gets *any* airtime... even to mock him, the only way to deal with 'fred' is to ignore him... words can't express my anger at this false teacher/prophet, and his message of hate... when I tried to have an 'intellegent' debate with him, he wouldn't even agree the central message of christianity is love (god first, then neighbor, right?)... schumck!

The Word of God is a metaphor and can't be applied by the letter.
Burn/freeze in hell/heaven, Godfull anti-sodomite ...

Phelps is the best comedian in the world ! Hes so ignorant i can´t stop laughing :D.

Idiot...

Yes, this can be funny, but this kind of pseudo-christian is not only hijacking a religion supposedly based on brotherly love, but they are trying (and on some levels succeeding) with turning our nation into a twisted theocracy. Laugh at the guy, but then remember to take people like this seriously...they are as dangerous as any terrorist.

What I love is idiots like that quoting the bible as the word of God... if God would have written the bible itself, I would listen. Not a book thats been translated and changed a thousand times by greedy humans, hungry for power

Posted by Helniev | Sep 8, 2006 10:17:22 AM

I like toast, I like toast with jelly and butter. Does that make me gay? I think it makes me hungry for toast.

He showed a picture of toast, what a fucking tool.

To paraphrase Lewis Black: Leave our books alone! This guy was mainly using things from the "Old" Testament and I'd bet a shiny new dime that he hates Jews.

Posted by Josh | Sep 8, 2006 10:48:35 AM

Man... all these old people and "God Hates Fags" retard are going to be really disappointed when jesus never comes back, and all of their bible "prophecies" fail to come true.

Posted by Erik | Sep 8, 2006 10:53:16 AM

This really frightened me, and I decided to join his church. I don't want to be burned up like faggots, or turned to salt.

But then I read his poster at the end "Too late to pray!"

So, what's the point?

I'm going out to get me some hot man-ass.
