Update on John Mayer: COMEDIAN

The Apiary points us to a report on the ongoing saga of rocker John Mayer's experimentation with stand-up comedy.

We haven't personally seen John Mayer do stand-up, but we would like to add two things to this report:

1. One of us met him once (in 2004), and he was really normal and cool and nice, and if we remember correctly, a fan of Mr. Show.

2. Mayer didn't just jump on the comedy bandwagon yesterday. Hellloooo? Remember when he helped Dave Chappelle determine the musical preferences of different cultures on Season 2 of Chappelle's Show? No? Here:

Don't "Hellloooo?" me! Of course I remember the John Mayer/Dave Chappelle dynamic duo.

Not only is it one of my all-time favorite "Chappelle's Show" sketches, it also was the reason I was willing to give Mayer a fair shake when I saw him last week. Plus this sketch earns bonus points because of ?uestlove's rockitude on and off the drums.
