Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on Oprah

May 16, 2008 AT 01:57PM | Comments (0)

Will Oprah play Liz Lemon's best friend on 30 Rock next season? I don't know. Why are you asking me? Do I look like some sort of sitcom-psychic? I'll tell you what I do know though: This appearance by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on yesterday's Oprah certainly doesn't do anything to kill the speculation.

Parts two, three and four after the jump.

Amy Poehler Latest Victim of Copy-Editing Neglect

April 29, 2008 AT 02:12PM | Comments (0)

I don't know about you, but when I said this the other day about FHM's Jenna Fischer typo, I thought I was kidding:

I guess you have to hit the top-50 for them to waste any of the copy-editing budget on you. Better luck next year, Jenna.

But it turns out I wasn't kidding at all. Another magazine, another list, another funny woman ranked below 50, and another sloppy typo. This time it's Amy Poehler on Time's Most Influential list:

Poehlertypo

And it's been like that for weeks. She's the 61st most influential person on earth and Time can't afford to pay someone to spot-check her name? I'm no economist, but I'm pretty sure this means we're officially in a recession.

And don't even get me started on the fact that Pope Benedict is somehow considered to be more influential than Amy Poehler. This whole operation is a sham!

World's Funniest Baby to Be Born in Next 9 Months

Poehlerarnett1 Let's say you love bowling. Like you eat, sleep and breathe bowling. Are you with me? Good. Now imagine you found out that Earl Anthony and Parker Bohn III were going to have a baby together. Yes, I know, it's really fucking exciting, calm down. Your hypothetical obsession with the quasi-sport of bowling is actually beginning to skeeve me out a little. But, now you know what it's like for a comedy nerd to hear that Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have combined their genes to produce a comedic super-baby.

Seriously, this kid is going to be hilarious. As far as comedic super-babies go, he or she will probably make Zoolander Ben Stiller look like Envy Ben Stiller! No pressure, gestating Poehler-Arnett fetus.

After the jump, enjoy a clip of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett being funny together on Arrested Development.

Amy Poehler Interviews Tina Fey

April 22, 2008 AT 02:10PM | Comments (0)

I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been linking to a lot of interviews with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler lately. It's almost as if they have a movie coming out soon or something. Whatever the case, the two comedic worlds have now collided with this video of Amy interviewing Tina about being the mama of a baby, a Baby Mama if you will:

Not satisfied? Here's an interview Tina Fey did with The Boston Herald. And here's one from The Richmond Times-Dispatch. And here's one from MSNBC. Oh, and speaking of MSNBC, they've given Tina Fey an award for being the world's funniest person.

Meanwhile, can I tell you that as widespread and effective as the Baby Mama ad campaign has been, I only found out today that Steve Martin is in the movie? I think I'll look back on today as the day I officially became completely out of touch. Will you come over and program my VCR?

The Gayest SNL Sketches of All Time (And By Gay We Mean Homosexual)*

April 21, 2008 AT 06:24PM | Comments (1)

AfterElton, the gay pop culture site run by sibling network Logo, aka the blog that gave you the Top 10 gayest moments in Daily Show history has just compiled the gayest moments in Saturday Night Live's run. It's a comprehensive and critical eye on both the hits (see below for an example) and misses (think Mango) of gay-themed humor over the years.

If you're curious about which of the 30+ years' worth of sketches are deemed funny or offensive to an actual gay critic, read on. See where Mango, Canteen Boy and the Ambiguously Gay Duo fit into the equation.

*Although you could argue that many are "gay" in the pejorative sense, meaning they are shitty sketches.
