So somehow I almost spaced yesterday and totally forgot that a month ago I bought a ticket to the late show of the New York leg of the Tim And Eric Awesome Tour Great Job tour. That's just how I roll. Extremely late. For a school night.
The show was a predictably bonkers mix of previews of stuff from the new season of Tim And Eric Awesome Show Great Job, some live songs, a frankly pretty elaborate set of costume changes involving, at my count, pretty much 13 different ways to show off their nuts (I was originally only aware of 2). And they showed off the sequel to their Absolut Vodka campaign with Zack Galifianakis, which will be coming to the small screen sometime soon. Here's the original, if you haven't seen it yet:
Needless to say, lots of nuts on display.
But my absolute favorite part of the show, a sentiment shared by my good buddy Gabe of Videogum was the awesome amount of stuff thrown directly into the crowd. You can make fun of Gallagher all you want, but it's really a whole new experience dodging an actual slice of Papa John's pizza, and even weirder to confront that part of you that is trying to figure out if it'd be gross to eat it.
