When the Funny or Die tour was at UNC, some students couldn't go because they were dancing for charity*, so Will Ferrell showed up and surprised the altruistic kids. If you're like me, you'll see Andrea Savage, the woman he's with, and know you recognize her, but you won't quite be able to put your finger on it. I'll save you a Google search; she's from Dog Bites Man.

*You know what they say, dancing for charity is like writing for architecture.

I went down to check out the At Night With Gabe And Jenny show at Rififi yesterday, in honor of the Adventures of Christopher Columbus Day. I actually went to school with Gabe and Jenny, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them perform outside of internet videos. Gabe wanted me to mention that they’re: "Funny, and peppy and awesome. I dont know! whatever you want! time out ny called us the 'gay-straight regis and kelly,'which is cute."

And I'm hard pressed to disagree. They could well be the gayest-straightest team working in comedy today (and, in my opinion, the awesome-est). No points, however, for identifying the Gay.

Anyway, the show was actually pretty amazing in a low key Monday night sort of way. As a relative newcomer to the scene*, I really enjoy seeing these sorts of events for two things, Awesome Newcomers, because they’re awesome, and Grizzled Vets trying out new stuff, because it’s interesting to see how the process works.

* by 'scene', I mean the sitting on my ass and watching comedy

You've seen David on Mr. Show, and Arrested Development; you've heard him on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. But if you've missed his appearances on MTV2's Wonder Showzen, you're just wasting the batteries in your remote control.
