SEEN AND HEARD at LIVE AT GOTHAM: Joe Rogan

From an imbedded reviewer at the latest Live at Gotham taping:

4/30 SHOW SIX hosted by JOE ROGAN

Joe_rogan_m5

It's finally arrived- the last show! And boy, was it a doozy. Joe Rogan was the host and in addition to hilarious jokes he also told us that he thinks Fear Factor is crazy too. He just shows up to work and they make him make other people eat ancient baby spiders and "sexy" bison parts. I'm glad he didn't Fear Factor me at the after party- I'm pretty sure the miniburgers and meatballs were grade Grade A USDA Prime Beef. Or were they!?!?

Fun facts about the last Live at Gotham comics:

Chris Porter LOVES the Black Crowes. He's seriously in love with them and will drive hours to see them live . . . still.  It might seem hard to handle to you, but its true. He talks to angels.

Did you know that Boston's own Dan Sally's Live at Gotham booking was predicted for him by a mystic astrological source (online)? His hilarious set was totally written in the stars.

You too can look as dashing as Jordan Carlos does on the show- his green shirt was brought to him by the good people at American Apparel. It wasn't free or anything, but damn does it look good.

Well, I think that's it from me. It's been swell, Live at Gotham! See you this July when you're all edited down and looking nice for TV.  I'll miss you, wait staff! Thanks for my  12 drinks over 6 shows.  I'll miss you hott steadycam operator! I like the way you look like robocop in your robocam suit and I'll miss the way you forcefully told me to move my chair in all those times. Security guards, I'll miss you too! You were a silent but deadly force to be reckoned with in your sleek suits and minimalist Gotham Comedy Club tie-tacks.

Wait a minute, I can relive the whole experience whenever I want to on MotherLoad!!  Oh joy of joys!!!  You'll be with me always, Live at Gotham. Thanks for the memories and hilarious good times.

SEEN AND HEARD at LIVE AT GOTHAM: An Insider Report

From an insider who was at last night's Live at Gotham taping:

4/17 SHOW FOUR hosted by CHRISTOPHER TITUS

Titus_m5

"Christopher Titus was an awesome host. He whipped the crowd into a frenzy from the beginning with his take on American laziness- "We watch people play cards on TV?!" Later he drew up a verbal contract with everyone in the audience, making sure we know that if for some reason he's ever brain-dead, we're supposed to "Kill Titus!" ...unless he's funnier that way. Reader, you're now part of that contract too.

(Kind of) Fun Fact: Titus prefers to rock a lav mic instead of a handheld.

Former Laugh Rioteer, KT Tatara, had a really great set last night. As it turns out, he's also the self-proclaimed toast of Monster Sushi. He was recognized 3 times in that place and was forced into a few fan photos. It must have been the hair. …and his funny, funny jokes.

A ton of Comedy Central alumni were at Gotham last night to support their fellow comedians! New New Yorkers Pat Dixon and Jaime Lissow checked out the show. I had just seen Pat last week for his Stand Up Nation with Greg Giraldo interview - his new Comedy Central Presents premiered last Friday! Look for him in the front row at Live at Gotham- he's wearing a suit (as usual).

Premium Blend 9's Pete Lee was there too - with the girlfriend he met (at a random bar) at his taping last year. They're still together. Amazing! I group hugged them for it.

I just deduced from my other entries that my insider style is very hug-based. Show 5 comedians be warned! I'm talking to you, Darryl Lenox...."
