Live Comedy Report: At Night with Gabe and Jenny

I went down to check out the At Night With Gabe And Jenny show at Rififi yesterday, in honor of the Adventures of Christopher Columbus Day. I actually went to school with Gabe and Jenny, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them perform outside of internet videos. Gabe wanted me to mention that they’re: "Funny, and peppy and awesome. I dont know! whatever you want! time out ny called us the 'gay-straight regis and kelly,'which is cute."

And I'm hard pressed to disagree. They could well be the gayest-straightest team working in comedy today (and, in my opinion, the awesome-est). No points, however, for identifying the Gay.

Anyway, the show was actually pretty amazing in a low key Monday night sort of way. As a relative newcomer to the scene*, I really enjoy seeing these sorts of events for two things, Awesome Newcomers, because they’re awesome, and Grizzled Vets trying out new stuff, because it’s interesting to see how the process works.

* by 'scene', I mean the sitting on my ass and watching comedy
