Bob Odenkirk stars in a new Adult Swim pilot about a production company that "churns out wedding videos, Internet ads, low-budget infomercials and even feature films for 'ancillary' markets." SOLD! [Deadline]

Would you like to hear former Ed costars Michael Ian Black and Tom Cavanagh talk about snacks? Yes, you would! [Mike and Tom Eat Snacks (opens in iTunes)]

Colin Quinn on being sober, "I started doing comedy because I was so tortured by not being able to drink and be in my lifestyle that I started comedy so that I could be around the bar scene and around the excitement." [The Fix via Splitsider]

The New York Times wishes Comedy Central a happy 20th birthday. Well, they didn't explicitly say "happy birthday!" but we can read between the lines. [NY Times]

Reggie Watts talks about his improvisational style coming from necessity, "Improvisation is a survival mechanism, really. I can’t memorize anything, even words." [Punchline]

Fred Willard talks about passing on starring in Airplane!, "Every time something about it comes on the TV, I say to my wife, geez, I probably should have done that. And she says, Fred, if you had done it, it might not have been that successful." [Vulture]

It's a slow news day, so we bring you the news that Eric Bana used to do stand-up. Here's his hell-show story, "There were about 400 people… half of them were rugby players… I look back on it with affection; I’m just happy to have kept my health." [Time Out]

Scott Aukerman Interviews Judd Apatow and Paul Feig

Posted by:

IFC has been airing Scott Aukerman's Comedy Death Ray interviews with comedians in between commercial breaks during their new classic comedy block. They've interviewed people like Sarah Silverman, Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo and Bob Odenkirk. All great people! Last night, they aired the first segments from interviews conducted with Judd Apatow and Paul Feig, who created Freaks and Geeks. We're seeing more places for comedian interviews on TV. It's interesting to note because it hints that there's a demand for this type of content from a wider audience than just me and my TMNT action figures.

Before They Get Stale: Jon Daly, Patton Oswalt and Mike Birbiglia

Everyone has a Bill Cosby impression, but only Jon Daly has a BillCosby Bukowski impression. If you think about it, Bill Cosby and Charles Bukowski are basically the same person, except not at all. [Funny or Die]

Patton Oswalt talks about the themes and topics in his material, "I don't sit down and make a list, like, I'm gonna cover this topic. I'm not really conscious of it. It's whatever is bothering me at the moment…" [Salon]

Mike Birbiglia will be sleeping in a Macy's display window in a promotion for Downy's clean sheet week. Here's a video explaining what is basically the unexplainable. [YouTube]

Before They Get Stale: Mike Birbiglia, Marc Maron and Ricky Gervais

Mike Birbiglia will spend a week sleeping in a bed set up in a Macy's display window. Some people are seriously hardcore about promoting their books about sleepwalking. [MSN]

Bob Odenkirk took the time to draft his own Four Loko warning, pro bono (because in my mind, he is actually a lawyer like in Breaking Bad). [Vice Magazine]

Marc Maron was on Conan last night and he got Conan O'Brien to agree to appear on the WTF podcast. Maron is setting the bar really high for podcast guests. Who's he going to get next? Groucho Marx? Jesus? [Team Coco]

Ricky Gervais appeared on Piers Morgan's show where he defended his performance at the Golden Globes. He makes some really great points, stating he believes he did nothing wrong. [CNN]

Greg Fitzsimmons went on Lopez Tonight and talked about race, ethnicity and why Barack Obama is magic. [Lopez Tonight]

BREAKING: Here's a brief and interesting history of fake news. Wait a second… that's not breaking at all. I'm terrible at my job. [Flavorwire]

Stephen Merchant talks about Karl Pilkington, "People always think that it's bullying. Bullying, I always think there's a victim… He leaves exactly the same man as he was when he walked in." [TV Squad]

Before They Get Stale: Demetri Martin, Mike Birbiglia and Keith Alberstadt

Posted by:

Demetri Martin signed a deal with CBS to work on a new project. It's a "blind deal" so there's no word on what it could be, but whatever it is, sounds like it would be well-paired with The Big Bang Theory, right? What say you, geeks? [THR]

Mike Biribiglia describes writing his new book, "I would listen to my own CDs… and I would take something that was a joke… and it would kind of transport me back into a place and time in my life where those things happened…" [Boston Comedy]

Mike Birbiglia on his new projects, "I'm working on a new one-man show called My Girlfriend's Boyfriend… I'm prepping it with my director in Sydney, Australia in January, and then we'll bring it to New York…" [TIME Magazine]

Vice Magazine's comedy issue includes interviews with Robert Smigel, Buck Henry and Chelsea Perretti, pieces by Brett Gelman and Bob Odenkirk, a visit to the set of Eastbound & Down and much more. It's pretty awesome. [Vice Magazine]

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay celebrated 20 years of IMDB by basically not answering a bunch of questions submitted by IMDB users. [Funny or Die]

Before They Get Stale: Bob Odenkirk, Dennis Miller and Will Forte

Bob Odenkirk directed a Built to Spill music video, and it's not so much funny as pretty and bittersweet. NOT ALL OF LIFE IS ABOUT JOKES, OKAY?! [AST]

Dennis Miller has a new special set up at HBO called The Big Speech. I bet he's as happy as Bobby the Deuce was when he became the first monarch in the Casa de Stewart in 1317 Scotland, oookay, babe? [Deadline]

This new Channel 101 short from Abed Gheith has everything. Cool World-esque antics, Steve Agee as a gay street tough, and a Teen Wolf pun in the title. Guys, it's Toon Wolf! [Channel 101]

Funny or Die Presents a Short That Is Longer Than Its Other Shorts

Posted by:

There's a popular Chinese proverb that goes, "Short people got nobody to love. They got little baby legs that stand so low, you got to pick em up just to say hello." Short films on the other hands, are universally beloved, watched by everyone, not just the weirdos who attend local film festivals. JK! I love short films, and I actually really like that Funny or Die is branching out by creating films with strong narrative arcs like Big Dog, their first long-form short. It's directed by Eric Appel and stars Charlie Sanders, Bob Odenkirk, Nelson Franklin, Rich Sommer and other cool people.

There's a deleted scene that got cut from the short film online. I've embedded it after the jump.

Rob Corddry, Zach Galifianakis and Bob Odenkirk In This Crazy Looking B-Movie

Posted by:

In school I was an almost straight-A student (damn you, Driver's Ed!). In retrospect that's really lame. Straight-B students were much cooler because they were clearly smart, but weren't trying to impress anyone. The same logic applies to a lot of B-Movies. Sure, Operation: Endgame might be going straight-to-DVD, but it doesn't care, because it's having too much fun smoking under the bleachers with Rob Corddry, Zach Galifianakis, Bob Odenkirk, Jeffrey Tambor, Adam Scott and a few others friends.

Before They Get Stale: Rob Corddry, Samantha Bee and Bernie Mac

Posted by:

This year's Just for Laughs festival has a great line-up, including some of our favorites like Aziz Ansari, Andy Kindler, Bob Odenkirk and much, much more. I guarantee there's a comedian on the line-up you love. [Just for Laughs]

Rob Corddry talks about the only line he didn't cross on Children's Hospital, "I just kind of balked at any sort of joke that would be at the expense of a child; that’s just not funny to me." [Rooftop Comedy]

Samantha Bee says she'd steer her kids away from any kind of future in politics, "Please be a drummer in a death metal band, don't go into politics." [Washington Examiner]

This should come as a surprise to exactly no one, but if you were wondering why Tom Cruise popped up at the MTV Movie Awards as Les Grossman, there's a movie in the works starring the foul-mouthed movie producer character. [E!]

Bernie Mac's friends and family reminisce as the two-year anniversary of his death nears, an occasion that will be marked by Mac's daughter Je'Niece throwing out the first pitch at a White Sox game June 10. [Chicago Tribune]

Writers for The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Jimmy Kimmel Live! dispell the persistent rumor that satire in the age of Obama is somehow more difficult than it used to be. [Variety]
