Fisher told CTV it's all part of her plan to "have a little bit more power and control over my career."

When asked how her script is developing, Isla replied: "Oh you mean ‘Groupies'? After ‘Wedding Crashers' I was just surprised as to the lack of comedic female material there is. So I had to start working and getting stuff out there for myself.

"‘Groupies' is pretty close to being ready and I've got another movie called ‘Life Coach' which I've been working on. Hopefully one of them will go soon. It's more frustrating being in development than it is just to be cast in something. It's a lot of things involved."

The movie will follow the adventures of a pair of rock groupies, played by Fisher and Poehler.

Meanwhile, also revealed in the article is the surprising and heretofore unknown fact that Isla Fisher used to write romance novels.

NBC is developing a semi-scripted comedy from sitcom vet Larry Charles and McG's Wonderland shingle.

Untitled project centers on a group of sci-fi fanboys in a small town who shoot their own version of a canceled TV show. Charles is onboard to write, exec produce and direct the project.

That sounds like a cool show. It sounds a bit like Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind, but presumably with less cardboard involved.

If you thought one show was enough for this guy, just remember, Larry Charles isn't a one network-man. He's got creative babies all over town.

Additionally, Charles is reworking the script for Fox's comedy pilot Boldly Going Nowhere alongside the project's creators, the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia trio of Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton.

That's enough for one man, right? He couldn't possibly have a third show making the rounds, right?

Charles also is working on a comedy project starring Curb Your Enthusiasm standout J.B Smoove. The Sony TV-produced ensemble comedy, set at a moving company, will be shopped to cable networks.

Alright! That's it! Let's just give all the shows to Larry Charles before he takes them all at gun point.

Universal Pictures U.K. is releasing a re-edit of Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno" to secure a "15" certificate and help boost audiences. It's the first time that two versions of one film will have been released at the same time in the U.K.

The "15" version is 110 seconds shorter than the original "18" film and was only submitted to the British Board of Film Classification on Monday.

Wow, England is really going the extra mile to make sure fifteen year olds won't learn what gay sex is until college.

Obviously, people are going to cry, "Censorship! Censorship! Oh, won't someone please not think of the children!" But of course, the British are always going to spin things around in their very British way.

Universal said movie theaters across the U.K. "have reported turning away large numbers of under 18s keen to see the new film."

Aww! They're "keen" to see it! That's England for you! Bloody hell! Cheese and crackers! Let's all drink tea! What censorship?

It’s great to see Cohen lay back in this interview and give us an inside peak into the very real threats he faces every day in costume. There’s a strange meta moment when, in reference to tracking down an actual terrorist for the movie, Dave asks Cohen if Bruno has connections in the CIA. Cohen just responds, “Well, no, but I do.” It’s good to know that the man behind the kugelsac is actually as resourceful and fearless as we all hoped he was.

Madonna… found the gimmick in Cohen's new film 'Bruno' insensitive, reported Daily Mirror online..

Cohen is friends with Madonna so he sent her a bouquet of flowers. But since they're both rich and famous, the flowers were probably made out of gold, or iPods, or, even more likely, adopted Malawian babies.

"Sacha is always out to make great comedy, and if he upsets people along the way, so be it. But when word reached him that Madonna thought his sketch was insensitive, he sent her a bouquet of flowers to say, 'No hard feelings'," a source close to Cohen told the newspaper.

Early speculation indicates that as the flowers whither with age, Madonna will send them through numerous treatments and surgeries to keep them as vibrant as they were at their peak. Unfortunately, no bees will pollinate the flowers, stating, "it's like pollinating with a piece of gristle."

Madonna actually appears in Brüno recording a Band Aid parody track, and, those with better memories will remember that back in 2000 (a million years ago practically), Cohen appeared, as his character Ali G, in Madonna's Music video .

Think of it as Space Cowboys meets  every road trip comedy in the past fifteen years. This would be a perfect Don Ameche/Jack Lemmon picture, but I'd settle for the cast of The Bucket List, as well as that 74 year old porn star in the eventual Japanese remake.
