Yes, just the comedy duo I was waiting for all these years to freshen up a bloated OS:  Seinfeld-Gates.

But that's not all. The Fishbowl claims that the campaign is trying to recruit the likes of Sarah Silverman, Rob Corrdry and Stephen Colbert. If the rumored $300 million dollar rollout materializes, this could be the greatest comedy promotion battle since Buster Keaton did silent ads for Simon Pure Beer.

There are many desperate tactics to jump-start a comedy career, but in the wake of Barack Obama's attempts to mend the nation's racial divisions, Pauly Shore has taken the curious tactic of allowing himself to be caught on camera going off on black comedians from Katt Williams to Charlie Murphy and attributing recent woes to his whiteness.

Check out the video for yourself, complete with "Is he drunk/stoned?" disclaimer. Thrill to Pauly's racial hierarchy pyramid! It's okay, because as he's quick to remind us: HE HAS BLACK FRIENDS.

"But the funniest women on television are youthful, good-looking, and even, in a few cases, close to beautiful—the kind of women who in past decades might have been the butt of a stand-up comic’s jokes."

Gillette cuts in with her own counter-argument, even going so far as to imply that the judgment of comedians is going beyond gender politics:

"Why not just provide a relative attractiveness chart? Or simply say, 'They're pretty–for comedians,' because, really, that's what this is about.

"This isn't a women vs. men issue. This is an attractive vs. ugly issue. It's a new(ish) thing for any comedian (male or female) to be attractive, funny, and successful."

The comments section is gettin' pretty heated, with some posters merely slagging or posting their "appreciation" of comedians' non-comedic assets from Tina Fey to Kristen Schaal. All I know is that the ultimate winner of this brouhaha is Christopher Hitchens, and that really chaps my hide.

Since we posted about Sarah's appearance at Sunday's VMAs, the Comments section has been heating up. What's your take?

It's a credit to the comedy industry that this ad wasn't nearly as douchey as personal assistant ads placed on a regular basis by writers and journalists, but it's strangely-serious and had a few notable "moments", such as:

* The candidate must be willing to and "not scared of" returning items to stores.
* The candidate must divulge personal information such as cellphone carrier and the size of his/her computer hard drive.

And then there's this question, that threw us for a loop:

"Do you feel it's wrong to download music from Napster or LimeWire or
other Internet sites without paying for it? Have you ever done it?"

SO…who do you think it is? The main facts as we know them:

* This comedian lives in Chelsea.
* This comedian has a friend serving a similar market who makes 10 million per year. (That is a lot for a comedian, by the way. A whole lot.)

Lennon told New York Metro: "I have an outline in my head, like 'Mamma Mia'- type musical but with them music of Morrissey called 'I've Changed My Plea To Guilty'. It's for a very diehard set of fans."

Um, so he just said that in an interview?  It's just 'an outline in his head'? I think This Charming Man was just making a joke. All kinds of sites are latching on to this story, but I'm going to stretch out and wait until it's confirmed. (I'll stop now – this Joke Isn't Funny Anymore)

However, it's impossible not to imagine potential plots. Off the top of my head: The Last of the Famous International Playboys is Hand in Glove with a Hairdresser on Fire until he finds out his Girlfriend is in a Coma and pregnant with a Monster spawned last November. And Heaven Knows He's Miserable Now.

"I went through it with Steve," Coogan's former girlfriend, rocker Courtney Love, told US.

"I was just out of rehab, and he was right there with the drugs."

When told this, one of my friends, a huge Steve Coogan fan, said "Come on! That's funny!"

Anyway, Coogan issued a statement denying Love's claims. Who knows what the real story is. I'm just excited for season 2 of Saxondale.

Mediaweek reports that the National Lampoon, not sated with shoring up its stock of dude-friendly videos, takes an alternative strategy to reaching out to another key demographic:

"This fall National Lampoon will roll out 8228, a collection of gossip and entertainment sites that are targeted to a more female skewing audience than the guy-centric humor network."

Evidently chicks like dishing the dirt better than laughing. Keep that in mind the next time you're filling out that online dating profile, guys.   

Our advice to the "Family Guy" writers? Wait until the show gets canceled (a second time), then shoot your porniest material into a "lost episodes" wad a la John K's Ren and Stimpy.

Hard 'N Phirm KILLED at Comic-Con. They were part of the Comic Book Club panel Saturday night, with the guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000 (now The Film Crew), and comic book writer Tim Seeley.

The audience had a bunch of people there to see the panel itself, but the large majority were waiting for the next panel… which was the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fan gathering, so all they wanted to see was 2 eps of Buffy, and (as I heard later) were annoyed they had to watch something different. The crowd, despite all that, started to get into the show, but Hard 'N Phirm's set (they played Pi and Coraz√≥n) clinched it. The crowd went nuts, were holding up lighters and cell phones, and gave them a standing ovation.

Later, during the question and answer section for the whole panel, the questions were all "Where I can listen to more songs?" "When can I see you guys play?" "Who would win in a fight, you or Flight of the Conchords?" etc… Totally, totally kicked Comic-Con right in the arse.

So sayeth Nicole Scherzinger, lone vocalist and frontwoman for the Pussycat Dolls, explaining why she's considering putting her singing/grinding career on hold for entre into the funny movie business.

Know how serious she is about comedy? She's willing to go on record by saying it's the #1 trait she's looking for in a man:

"I think having a sense of humor is the hottest thing. I love Will Ferrell. I am such a huge fan of his. I think he is wonderful."

Well played, Nicole. You may have a future in an upcoming Dane Cook movie.
