Sure, on a typical weekend on the streets of New York City, you’ll see more than your fair share of colorful characters dressed in what may look like costumes, spouting off in languages that seem to be from another planet. But this weekend this fine island of mixed nuts is getting a little nuttier. And no, I’m not referring to Occupy Wall Street. I’m talking about the 2011 New York Comic Con. And since there’s absolutely nothing funny about grown men and women dressing up like Admiral Akbar and Princess Toadstool, Comedy Central and friends will be bringing you plenty to laugh at.

Today, you can catch exclusive South Park footage at the Comedy Central showcase, where you’ll also have a chance to win exclusive South Park memorabilia. NYCC is also the place to be to see the unveiling of the new South Park video game.

Tomorrow, The Daily Show’s Senior Women’s Correspondent, Kristen Schaal, will be performing stand-up on Tell All Your Friends! The Live Show! If you can’t make the live show, you can see Schaal and Comedy Central’s Hot List comic Reggie Watts in Tell All Your Friends! The Concert Film! Schaal will also be joining her The Heart, She Holler co-star, Patton Oswalt—whose latest stand up album Finest Hour was released last month on Comedy Central Records—on Saturday’s Adult Swim: The Heart, She Holler panel.

Another member of The Best F#@cking News Team Ever, Jason Jones, will also be geeking out at Comic Con this weekend as he joins a panel on Sunday to discuss Geek Parenting: Raising Kids in Our Own Geeky Image. Also on Sunday, H. Jon Benjamin, the man who …Has A Van, will be moderating IFC’s Portlandia and the Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret panel.

New York Comic Con is going on October 13-16. Follow MTV Geek to get more info on things that are geekier than comedy (yes, such things exist!), like when Mike Judge and Luke Wilson will sit down with MTV to talk about Beavis and Butthead and when the king of comics, Stan Lee, will join them to discuss The Seekers.

The Joker once again breaks out of Arkham Asylum, and Batman – along with the Justice League – tears apart Gotham to find him.

And who feels the heat the worst when the League is cracking down hard? Gotham's criminals…

Barely escaping a beatdown and capture, The Cluemaster (who I'm going to make a much younger, inexperienced criminal) gathers a literal "C"-list of other, frightened criminals – Crazyquilt, Crime Doctor, Calendar Man and Copperhead – to hunt the "J".

He calls the idea "esoteric" and compares it to "those low-stakes, early 70's noirs." Sounds like it would have been awesome. His second idea, less grounded in the canonical DC Universe, sounds even more fun. It's basically The Dirty Dozen but with all the Batman villains. I have a double-joint in my thumb, so when I give a thumbs-up, the top segment of my thumb is actually parallel with the floor. Which is to say, I can definitely relate to the mutants in X-Men: First Class. It's the latest installment in the blockbuster X-Men film series, and today we've got three new exclusive trailers to share with you.

In this first one, we meet Banshee, a mutant with a hypersonic screaming ability.

Things promise to get very meta with the release of the Kickpuncher comic. While the comic book is written by series creator Dan Harmon, and illustrated both in the Community world and in the real world by real-life comic artist Jim Mahfood (who illustrated the Clerks comic and the Mixtape art books), the fictional story behind the comic is that it was written by Troy, who just happened to take art classes with the real world Jim.

Confused yet? Because I am, but all we really have to know is that Kickpuncher will include scantily clad ladies in peril, great artwork and plenty of kickpunching action.

With the final book in the six-part graphic novel series just released, and a movie  starring Michael Cera due in theaters next month, Scott Pilgrim has certainly taken over the world. But what's better than having witnessed his adventures?

Getting to be in them, of course.

Announced at last year's Comic-con, Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game is a video game tie-in being developed and published by Ubisoft, and will be made available for download on the Playstation Network this August. Just in time for this year's Comic-Con, a new trailer for the game has been released. From the looks of it, this side-scroller promises to combine old school beat 'em up action with the art and humor that the Scott Pilgrim series is known for.

But what can you do? That’s right, Associate Editor Matt and I are heading down to Comic-Con 2010 with the Atom gang (we’re basically slightly tougher version of the Latin Kings). It’s going to be a lot of complaining, a lot of snapping on geeks, and a lot of Matt going apeshit over some dork thing or another.

Stop by our booth (we’ll be nestled within Spike TV booth) or our panel screenings for some awesome and extremely unnerving content. We’ll be featuring two great panels for you, with the world premiere of Season 3 of the hit series Legend Of Neil, and the planetary premiere of the newest film starring Tommy Wiseau, the creator of The Room, called The House That Drips Blood On Alex.

At the booth, we’ll be giving away lots of cool stuff, including masks of Tommy Wiseau and characters from Legend Of Neil that you can bring to our scheduled ‘Masked Meet & Greets’ with the stars.
