Beastie Boys: Fight for Your Right (Revisited) Long-Form

Posted by:

Last week, we showed you Fight for Your Right (Revisited), The Beastie Boys' star-studded video for their new song "Make Some Noise." I liked it a lot, but I really wished it had been longer. Well, it looks like my wish just came true, which is cool and all, because the video is great, but if I'd know that was going to happen, I would have wished for infinity more wishes instead.

Celebrate Earth Day with Ecommando

Posted by:

Today is Earth Day, and I can think of no better way to mark the occasion than by watching the latest episode of Atom's Ecommando. Of course, after you're done, be sure to offset the energy you used to play the video by recycling a wind turbine or planting a recumbent bike tree.

David Cross Is a Talking Car in Ecommando

Posted by:

Just in time for Earth Week, Atom has premiered their new series, Ecommando, about a down-on-his-luck dude who takes a job as Earth's bodyguard. It features Jason Nash, Laura Silverman and AD Miles, who are all obviously great, but most importantly, it bears the trademark of any great show: A talking car voiced by David Cross! Watch the first episode now on your solar-powered, hemp-based laptop.

Sarah Silverman and Andy Dick Talk to Scott Aukerman For IFC's Comedy Death Ray Block

Posted by:

We linked to the news that Scott Aukerman would be hosting a comedy block on IFC that includes The Larry Sanders Show, The Ben Stiller Show and Mr. Show. Comedy nerd orgasm blah blah blah. I assumed Scott's role in the programming block would be like Robert Osborne on TCM, "Originally, Bob Odenkirk's smut-obsessed Senator was to be played by Charles Laughton." Apparently, it's going to be more neatly tied into the Comedy Death Ray brand, featuring interviews with Scott's famous friends. IFC already has some clips featuring Sarah Silverman and Andy Dick.

There are a few more interview clips featuring Sarah and Andy Dick over at IFC's Comedy Death Ray site. They've also got interviews with David Cross, Ben Stiller and Michael Cera listed in their "coming soon" section.

Jim Gaffigan is going to make his Broadway debut in the revival of That Championship Season. [Broadway World]

Todd Phillips shares his views on political correctness and the recent gay joke in The Dilemma (and it almost stands as a proxy for the recent Hangover 2/Mel Gibson debacle). [Making Of]

Todd Phillips isn't shy in sharing his opinions. He basically tells Movieline what the thinks of them in their interview with him, calling the tone "bizarrely hateful." [Movieline]

In other development news, Molly Shannon has a show being developed over at HBO. It's about an ex-nun entering the dating world. I hope this is the role that finally fulfills all the promise she displayed on SNL so many moons ago. [Deadline]

David Cross talks about his whole career. Here he talks about his first big break, The Ben Stiller Show, "I wasn’t eating my dinners at happy hours with free buffalo wings from six to eight. I wasn’t stealing laundry detergent." [Vulture]

Amy Sedaris was on The Today Show this morning to promote her new book and be amazing. [Splitsider]

Sean O'Connor and Allison Williams star in a new web series about a couple moving in together. It's pretty great! [Sean and Meghan]

NBC is developing a pilot with Chelsea Handler based on her books. The show will not star her, but rather a younger alter-ego to stand in for her. [Deadline]

David Cross on constantly being asked about Mr. Show and Arrested Development, "Look, ultimately, I much rather have people constantly…I mean, it’s a small price to pay to answer the same questions over and over again. I’m glad that people like it, and still like it." [Collider]

Sarah Silverman tells fans to lower their expectations for her upcoming nude scene in Take This Waltz, "In all honesty, I would say it's a lot closer to Kathy Bates in About Schmidt than, like, Julianne Moore in Short Cuts." [Vulture]

Next Monday, Bob Saget is hosting a scleroderma benefit at Carolines featuring comedy performances by Seth Meyers, Brian Regan, Jeffrey Ross, Jerry Seinfeld and Brian Williams. [Scleroderma Research Foundation]

Stand-up Joel Buxton wrote an interesting piece on the value of bombing. If there's any value to bombing at writing blog posts about bombing, he's really missing out. [Premise Punch Tag]

Just when you think you've seen everything from The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, someone uploads a video of a dude using his prosthetic leg to help a young girl climb a tree. [TPM]

This video with Rob Huebel and Paul Rust contains more pipe puns than you can shake a pipe at. [Funny or Die]

Speaking of Rob Huebel, here's a video of him in a support group for Human Centipede survivors Steve Agee and Jon Daly. Also James Urbaniak is in it! Love that Dr. Venture voice. [Funny or Die]

There's a great deal of controversy surrounding the "electric cars are gay" joke from the trailer of The Dilemma, but Ron Howard wrote in defense of his decision to include it in the movie. [LA Times]

Waiting for an Arrested Development movie is getting to be Ghostbusters 3 types of ridiculous, but David Cross lights a faint light of hope, “I think it is [a] perfect continuance of the Bluths, although I cannot say anything. I know the outline is done.” [EW]
