The Comedy Messiah Is Born Unto Us

It's happened!  Finally: the baby we've all been waiting for, straight

from comedy heaven, delivered by that duck from the Groucho Marx show,

in a basket lined with funny papers.

On October 25th, 2008, Will

Arnett and Amy Poehler (or Wilmy, as they are known around the CC

Insider) gave birth to a healthy baby boy, whom they named Archie. The

couple had not commented on the choice, but one can only assume that he

was named in the humorous tradition of Archie Bunker, Archie Andrews,

and Archie Asparagus.

So, fan boys and girls, now that the little fella has sprung forth

from one of the most talented uteri in the biz, the question hangs in

the air like a fart joke: what will he be like?  If he's half

the comedic golden child we expect him to be, he will be pulling off

masterful prat-falls before he learns to walk — mark my words.  Sure,

maybe the average onlooker might not be able to tell the difference

between a carefully-honed comedic gag and the normal falling down of an

developing infant, but trust me: this baby is gonna be Buster

Keatoning the crap out of the boring old Suris and Shilohs of

Hollywood.  How can he not? Picture it. Little Archie will posses the

best qualities of Wilmy, from which there are so many to choose…:

The Making of Sarah Silverman's New Friends Song

If you're like me, you thought songs were just born after a piano stuck its wiener in a guitar's hooha. But that's actually how volcanoes are made, not songs. I looked it up. No, songs are actually thought up and written by people, people like Sarah Silverman. Don't believe me? Maybe my friend Benjamin Franklin can change your mind? By the way, I named this behind-the-scenes video Benjamin Franklin.

Another Sarah Silverman Program making-of clip and a new animated short can be found after Millard Fillmore. By the way, I named the jump in this blogpost Millard Fillmore.

And that's because tonight CC Records' God's Pottery will be performing their unique blend of musical instrumentation, singing voices and God's love with The Artifice Gordon Show, a variety show including stand-up from Sean Gardner and Rob Penty, short videos by Karen Lurie and Nick Poppy, and musical performances by David Nagler.

Admission is as FREE as your soul will be after this transcendent experience. (Also, like your soul, it may require a little drinking.)

Dream Cast for Grunge: The Movie

WordCobain around the campfire is Courtney Love has picked Ewan McGregor to play Kurt Cobain in a biopic about the lead-singer of Dave Grohl's first band. And while it's probably safe to assume the entire project exists only in Love's mind, we still have a few ideas for the rest of the cast…

  • Ashton Kutcher as Krist Novoselic
  • Jon Heder as Dave Grohl
  • Dakota Fanning as Courtney Love
  • Billy Corgan as Eddie Vedder
  • Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as Billy Corgan
  • The Pussycat Dolls as Soundgarden
  • Courtney Love as Cyborg Eleanor Roosevelt
  • Matthew McConaughey as Flannel

Greg Fitzsimmons Is Mad as Hell

And he's not going to take it anymore! Improv.com points us to their featured post, a MySpace blog by Greg Fitzsimmons about competition in comedy. (And he even brings boobies into it!)

We're totally impartial here at the CC Insider (well, not really, but there are so many comedians we like equally, it's hard to choose), but since we like Greg, and since he took the time to blog about Stand Up Showdown, we're going to tell you exactly how to vote for him. First, click on "vote now":

Then, at the top, click A-F. Then, scroll down to Greg (in the F section. duh). Then, vote for Greg!
